Humanity’s Future: Are We Approaching Extinction?

Being a science fiction nerd since the age of 5 keeps my mind full of thoughts of end of the world. Will I be alive when we cease to exist? Am I being brainwashed by religions prophesies? Or am I just an individual living in an uncertain environmental future? Unless you live underground, everyone is feeling the effects of how we damage the planet. The world is getting hotter everyday. In my story, Immortality’s End, the sun kills humanity.

My theory came from a dream I had in my early 20s. I was asking myself; how does humanity die in my book, I had no clue how I wished to write this. I had writers block for 2 years, getting stuck on this one idea. Going back to my dream, I was walking outside, a normal day but I could not see the sky, street, or my surrounding, only the sun. The sun surrounded me until all I saw was yellow and bright darkness. Then I woke up. After waking up, I thought, the sun is going to kill us, that’s it. What if we get so hot that we burn. Of course, many may argue that my theory on the sun is not 100% correct, but I had fun with this story line. Adding my version of the apocalypse helps readers understand why the characters in my book exist.
