New World: 2700
A world consumed by war, controlled by a new Big Brother, or a true utopia.
Which future emerges after the apocalypse in Immortality's End?
Based on the ending of Tara's story, I believe the answer is utopia, and here's why.
Throughout the book, Tara and the other immortals are driven by a deep desire for freedom. That longing shapes their choices, their relationships, and ultimately their understanding of existence. After humanity's extinction, they would create a new world rooted in that same need.
Tara leads with love in every life she lives, and her soulmate, Kevin, shares that same compassion. Together, they represent the possibility of a society built on connection rather than conflict.
Even David and Ellin, despite their manipulation and constant pursuit of drama, are motivated by a desire to be free and exist on their own terms.
Jada's wisdom allows her to remain calm and resilient through every crisis. While she can endure hardship, she would thrive easily in a world defined by peace and harmony.
Dad's devotion to helping his family grow across time suggests that he would continue that mission with whatever new race inherits the Earth.
What do you think? Would the new world resemble humanity, with all its strengths and flaws, or would it become something entirely different? What would that future look like to you?
